In a late matchup between the first place J.b blue wings and the third place hornell gods, it turned out to be an embarassment for heavily favored Jean Brillant.
Julian Grekin was sparkling as he reapedatly stoned the swarming J.B offence again and again stoping all but 2 shots.He made a number of key saves in front and made a number of astounding saves on J.B odd man rushes.Hornell though,despite the victory still seem to lack the defensive skills needed to keep Grekin from facing 30 plus shots a game I'm personnaly wondering if Hornells' captain is willing to trade away for a bonafide defensive talent to give the team the shot in the arm it needs,someone to acompany micheal browns defensive prowness.
As for offence it came from some suprising sources, Jeanithan mon petit who according to 4th avenue players did "nothing" scored a hatrick to and patrick staton scored 2 including a beutiful mid-air deflection. Brent tydlsly also earned 3 assists.
J.B Captain shazeeb upaal despite getting 2 points to keep him ahead of the pack for the scoring lead was continuously frustrated by Grekin who only alowed one goal to the league leader. "We tried hard,I don't blame anyone" said a cool and collected Upaal who is sitting comfortably 14 points ahead of the closest contender. Jeff Latreille who was also spectacular in nets despite an injured knee says,"He(Grekin)played ice,of course he's difficult". J.B came expecting a chalenge and unfourtunatly for them Grekin played even better than expected.
Despite getting a season low amount of points,J.b players do not doubt that they're captain will rebound next game against 4th avenue and continue till the playoffs.
Overall Hornell was all over the J.b defense who only semmed interested in scoring and always found a way to create chances despite the number of defensman and Grekin put on a show despite continuous pressure."We only beat them once and they beat us three times so we shouldn't get to cockey" says a modest grekin after the game.Hornell came and was all over a jean brilliant team that didn't look like the team that beat the turbs 6-2 hornell just ripped through them and they're was nothing that could stop them,though they didn't play bad J.B seemed to lack mental toughness and it reflected on their game play,they're passes wern't crisp they played sloppy defense and they struggled to score.
All in all though J.B didn't play bad,hornell came and they were the hungrier team and they put out they're best and proved they were a serious contender.
